HEY HEY!

I’M TANISHA, YOUR NEW FITNESS TRAINER & HEALTH COACH!

About Page.png

I am on a mission to empower women to be their strongest, fittest, healthiest selves, in their own unique way.

As a former fitness competitor, now wife and mom, I’m all about making health and fitness an integral part of my life - WITHOUT crazy fad diets, ridiculous hours in the gym and obsessing over calories. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

Let me help you hit your fitness goals, feel amazing in your skin and build healthy habits for life!

Juggling all the things is ROUGH! Tell me if any of this sounds like you:

  • Your work is demanding

  • You have a partner/kids/family/other social commitments that take up time outside of work

  • You have tried to maintain a health regimen, but it keeps getting put on the back burner

  • You have tried all the diets and quick fixes out there but none have worked for very long

  • You feel stressed with your many daily responsibilities and just want to relax at the end of each long day with some takeout, wine and Netflix

  • Your job and your loved ones often come before you

  • You're over it

Adulting sure isn't all it was cracked up to be, huh? As we get older, our bodies seem to just not work the way they used to; we get tired so much more quickly and the aches and pains just won't ease up. Not to mention how tough things can be after having a baby... Whew chile!

But it doesn't have to be that way.

Not only is it possible to work on your health, fitness and wellness, while killing it in the office/home and taking care of our families, but it is imperative that we make it a priority!

As a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, I am here to help you figure out YOUR best fitness formula, with no crazy crash diets, miserable workout plans and unrealistic expectations. It's all about get-it-done-able and KEEP-IT-UP-able lifestyle transformations!

Some fun stuff…

THE BOOK THAT CHANGED MY LIFE IS:

The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho

I've always been fairly active, starting formal dance classes very young, but I didn't understand much about health and fitness. I went through many phases of putting on, then losing weight; trying all kinds of diets (and failing often); starting fitness regimes that never stuck; being super health-conscious, then being super lazy and don't-care-ish.

Needless to say, I wasn't particularly fit nor healthy. Womp womp.

And then I decided to try competing.

I admired the strength, resilience and determination I saw in the pro fitness competitors and wanted to prove to myself that I could do it too.

Y'all. It was hard AF! I won't lie. There were lots of tears and cussing, but it was all worth it.

I won my IFBB pro card in 2014, but what I gained was so much more than trophies.

This is when my true love affair with fitness began.

My Story

I learned just how unhealthy the sport of bodybuilding could be.

I saw how dangerous severe dieting and too much cardio and exercise could be.

I realised that mainstream ideas about health, fitness and how you should look were doing so much more harm than good.

I started studying.

I became a certified personal trainer and fitness nutrition coach so that I could help others become their fittest selves and feel good in their own skin without resorting to some of the crazy methods out there. And I am still studying, because the science is always evolving, there is always more to learn, and better ways of doing things are always being developed.

Then the 2 Littles came along...

My pregnancies was fine, but postpartum was rough. At least with Baby #1.

I struggled with postpartum depression and anxiety in the form of the very things I coach my clients NOT to do: not eating, not exercising and not taking care of myself.

With lots of support, soul-searching and kicking my own butt, I got my life *somewhat* together (let's be real - is anyone's life actually all the way together??) and was much better prepared for the arrival of Baby #2.

Now, life looks *very* different to my pre-motherhood days!

There's a lot more compromising, improvising and being ok with imperfect action.

The lessons I had learned, and continue to learn, on my ongoing health & fitness journey saved me. And I would love to share them with you…

…Starting with my mantra:

Taking care of your health is taking care of your life.

I feel like you already know this, but do you really know this?

Aside from what we've been taught about the various ailments and disease that can kill us if we don't take care of our health (depressing, I know), your fitness level has a direct correlation to the quality of your everyday life!

And I am not just talking about the aesthetic side of things - although having a bangin' body is a pretty fantastic side effect... 😉

I mean other positive side effects, like elevating your mood, improving how your body moves, building strength and endurance, strengthening your bones, increasing mobility and flexibility, feeling fabulous in your skin... the reasons are endless.

It is all doable, no matter how busy and hectic your reality is right now.

Making fitness a habit is a game changer!

If you want to learn more, stick around!

I hope you find the resources and inspiration you need.
